When I first discovered Feng Shui, I was fascinated by the Bagua Map. It helped me to begin looking at my life in terms of the categories on the map and to consider how to express my dreams and vision for each of these categories into my home and work environments. The format of a photo collage was the best way I could imagine to express so much meaning and emotion in a small space. I started creating tons of photo collages and putting them in my spaces and then something amazing happened. My feelings were changing as I changed my spaces in this intentional way. I noticed that I felt joyful and excited to see beautiful items that evoked the essence of my life, my dreams, and my moods. I felt new inspiration and motivation to follow my dreams. I started to identify decorative objects and images as thought prompts that generated positive feelings, thoughts, and actions for me. This is what I want to share with you, the perspective of seeing your decor as symbolism and thought prompts that will create uplifting emotions when you take the time to pause and notice them. The Bagua Map suggests the placement of specific colors, elements, and features into the respective areas of the physical space. I have assembled those suggestions into my latest creation, the Feng Shui Collection. Each one is my personal interpretation of the guidance provided in Jaymee Barrett’s book, Feng Shui Your Life. My intention in creating the Feng Shui Collection is to offer an immediate solution to intentionally decorate the various energy centers for those who are interested in dabbling in Feng Shui the way I do. Before creating a vignette or even just adding the framed collage to your space, first declutter the area. The beauty and intention will be more powerful if it is not competing with other items directly around it. Allow for some clear space to really appreciate the new intention you’re creating. My photo collages have been powerful in my life; connecting me to my soul and reminding me who I want to be, how I want to feel, and what I dream of experiencing. I hope they will do the same for you. |
